I was thinking about all the people on this fan page who had a kindred type feeling to the characters in the Christy series. My mother was born in a log cabin in a hollar in Salyerville,Ky. Her dad was an Irishman whose parents came over and somehow got together with the Montgomery/Sizemores who were Cherokees who hid out in caves in the Appalacian mountains during the Trail of Tears times. My G and GG grandmothers were midwives who rode their horses through the hills/mountains to help the people. Interesting. Have a blessed week. Angelyn

Well, Mom and I finished Christy-New Beginnings today. This city gal here got some more stories from Mom after watching this show. I listened to her talk to me about how when she was little, her oldest sister now 80, would share with her about the time my Grandma and Grandpa Patrick had to hold their cabin door shut when the flash floods would come through their cove around Mt Sterling, KY since the cabins were built into the mountains. Mom said when she went back to visit her Grandma around 94-96 that she almost got caught in the flood and how scary it was. The movie stirred up some memories that she was able to share with me. I will always cherish these movies in my heart. She is desiring to go back to her roots. Her health is not well. We never know what God has in store for any of us from day to day. God bless you all for sharing on here. I am grateful for this forum and the gifts and talents. I appreciate the arts. We have a 25 yo son who has challenges with high spectrum autism.
