"Hello, Well its been forever since i've been over to the site. I've been working on some projects which now are actually seeing the light of day. for those of you who don't know my Radio Show is finally up and running on the Krush 92.5. Of course as you know the subject of wine is one close to my heart and one thats usually pretty close to my lips. The show is a natural offshoot for me of the festival that was held last year and will be held again this year.
The show is currently seeking another cast member and that is The Wine Nymph . the Nymphs duties will include all manner of things but most importantly she will become an anonymous critic / consumer to the local wine scene here on the Central Coast of California.
The show is now in its sixth episode and I'm joined on the air by my beautiful sidekick Adelaida (Addy) Pitts. Its very much a beauty and the beast line up and I'm working hard on developing a face for radio.
I thank you for the wishes on my recent birthday which among other things signaled my official retirement from the acting profession. I guess one never really retires from acting as those things that one has studied never really leave. They either just get underutilized or utilized in a different arena. I must say and it's somewhat been reflected here on this board over the years, that whilst one may appear on IMDB as an underrated actor that unfortunately isn't a bill paying category.
It probably comes as also no surprise that my meanderings in the world of wine should arrive at a place where many of my skills can be employed in the exploration of a subject I'm both intrigued by and passionate about. I want to say to those of you who have supported me on this board and throughout my "career" the most humble of thankyous. Whilst it may appear that Ive been absent from this place do not feel that it in anyway diminishes the gratitude I fell toward those who have gathered here over the years to help me through the downs and celebrate the highs.
As an actor one is so often rarely the master of ones career destiny and I must say lady luck has given me great opportunities. In a field littered with so many broken dreams I've actually gotten to live many of those dreams I had growing as the son of a miner in a far off place in Australia . From being on stage in NYC to being on set in Hollywood I've tried to never forget who I am and where I'm from. I have been, and will forever be, a champion of the underdog because thats what I've pretty much always been. I'm here to let to anyone struggling out there know that listening to the knockers, naysayers , underminers, credit stealers, usurpers, and insecure talentless wannabes is a trap . A trap that will, if you let it, sink every dream ,idea and original thought you've ever had. I learned that early and every time I forgot that lesson I had to learn it again. Its easy to dump on the arts as the indulgence of our society and diminish those who spend their lives trying to create , act or yes even teach. However without their creativity and teaching our society becomes a stagnant pool of sameness. The kind of sameness thats easy to manage and yes exploit . Well I'm not the same and neither is anyone reading this. We are individuals and by remaining so we give this country its creativity its vibrance and yes believe or not its money.
I've tried to remain apolitical here for the longest time . Though anyone who can even slightly read between the lines knows where I truly stand . I stand behind those who care about something other than their own navel ,those who believe a society is better for helping out not cutting out. A society that doesn't exploit but encourages. A society who's moral compass isn't set by boards of corporations .A society who doesn't forget where its been or reinvent the past to suit its present. Most importantly a society driven by the true love and respect of every man woman and child that exits within is boundaries. Thats my perspective and I believe its the same perspective held by one of the candidates in this upcoming election . Wheres my soapbox?
So begins a new chapter in my time on the planet .New challenges await and I'm as excited as ever to be embarking on what will hopefully become a more personally driven segment of my life. I hope those of you interested will enjoy what Im up to and once again I thankyou for reading. Love on ya Dum Spiro Spero Stewart aka Stew pronounced stchoo"

Don't stop by here much anymore, due to the lack of activity
From time to time I miss the old activity. I've been stuck home for most of the week after having over six inches of rain in two days that caused much flooding and over seven landslides on the way out to our home from town.
I volunteer out on the Quinault Resevation twice a week having restructured their library last year. Its a 96 mile drive roundtrip, but I feel appreciated and am happy to introduce the little ones to literature.
A friend and I spent two weeks in October on the Monterey Peninsula and drove Highway 1 down to Paso Robles and Morro Bay. It was a lovely trip and we had great weather, I had fond memories of meeting both BC and Stewart on my last trip there.
Next May I'm headed to Great Britain for my 65th birthday. I'll fly into Edinborough then take the train down to London. From there I'm off to Cardiff and a visit to Swansea to honor a friend who was born there 103 years ago. Once she knew I was Welsh she made me promise to visit Wales someday. From there I spend a week in Port Isaac in Cornwall then back to London and vicinity for a week. I've even planned a full moon night at Stonehenge.
I'd love to hear what the rest of the old group is into these days.

Laura
