WHOA! This one got me pretty well!

http://www.personalitypage.com/html/INFJ.html

1.5% of the population, I feel special :) Although I am actually very good with details. Well, it says "dealing with" details, and says a person can get carried away, which is maybe what I do with details.

Thank you! I was surprised about being so secretive because I'm usually fine with talking about things that other people might not like talking about, but the more I thought about it, I realized there are some things I am more secretive about. It took this test for me to realize that! Kind of strange how they can get all that info about you in 50 questions, huh?

[> [> [> Re: INFP's ?! -- Brittany, 19:05:47 11/06/10 Sat

WOW! Some of those got you spot on! You are very kind and caring towards others. You feel like a "safe" person to me in that you are steady and supportive and I'm not worried about being hurt by you. You are definitely not judgmental! If I ever spilled my guts to you about something, I'm sure you would be a good listener :) I feel you don't like conflict, but in others as well as yourself. You want everyone to be happy and don't like people at odds with each other. Then you are a wonderful (and published!) writer!

As for some of the other things, I'm not so sure about them. You don't seem like *too* much of a perfectionist and I don't know if you can even be aggressive! :P I mean that in a nice way, too, and I'm not saying that you can't be assertive, but rather you are too kind to be aggressive.

I'm sorry if I'm making you blush, and I know you didn't put this out there for compliments, but when I read your test outcome, I realized you need to be told more often how awesome you are because you are really one in a million :) *hugs*

Heehee, that's why I said you weren't too much of a perfectionist and didn't say you absolutely weren't a perfectionist: you do edit your posts from time to time ;P Not that it is bad or anything, but just something I noticed. I think it is good for someone to have a little bit of perfectionist in them.

I suspected "Mama Coop" might get aggressive if one of her kids were in trouble! I guess "aggressive" has a bad connotation for me and when I hear it, I always think it is bad. If it is provoked, I guess it isn't really bad, is it, and can be admirable?

I'm with you on the whole "fighter" thing! I love the song "The Boxer" and keep saying it is "my" song and I am "the boxer". My friend keeps running with that and right now I have a desktop wallpaper with a rather defiant picture of Lady Jane Grey with the words: "The fighter still remains"

[> [> [> [> [> Re: Good morning Brittany! -- BC (), 08:54:29 11/07/10 Sun

I love the song Brittany!
Thanks for sharing it!

re: "aggression" - for me the word conjures up images and memories of abusive situations that I would just soon not remember (during my childhood and marriage).

I'm not afraid to stand up for the principles in which I believe.
But, I'm much more "tenacious" than "aggressive"!
I'm not one who "walks away" without examining something from every "angle" - exhausting every resource or possibility that is available!
Yet, there are times when I make an instantaneous decision to stand and "fight" 'cause it's worth the "battle" and should be dealt with immediately!

re: editing
I try to choose my words carefully,
because I know that not only is it important what you say -but, it is also important how and when you say something as well.

I hope that editing/perfectionist thing didn't come out wrong! It's just that while you do like to word things right, you aren't obsessive about it like a total perfectionist would be. At least I don't think you are obsessive anyway :) I totally agree with you about the power and timing of words. Unfortunately I am a mess with words. Then if I think too hard, it comes out too formally and cold. Then as I say, I'm "street dumb", so I don't always get what someone is saying and then reply the wrong way. Yeah, I am intuitive, but it usually comes after some time in the situation. There are way too many situations in my life where I figured out what was really going on after and I keep kicking myself!

I don't have any kids yet, but when I do, I have a feeling people are going to need to watch out, lol! I'm really protective of friends and family, especially my mom. You know in "Sweet Home Alabama" when Reese Witherspoon punches that lady (no spoilers here) and says, "Nobody talks like that to my mama!"? Well, that's me! Only I don't punch people but rather wait for revenge, lol! Sometimes the situation allows me to jump in there and turn the tables (or the conversation). Other times I just place African curses on people and feel pleased with myself, even though I know they aren't real and I don't really mean any harm ;)

I have such a hard time picking my battles, though. I think I've gotten better as I've gotten older, but I'm still not perfect. I'm trying to listen to God and let Him pick my battles for me :) I do have a temper, though, and sometimes I forget to listen and jump into the fray. A lot of times people don't believe I have a temper, but I really do! It seriously is genetic, too! I won't not take responsibility for it, but I know the whole nature/nurture thing is not all one way or the other from personal experience ;)

All this talk about my battles with people might make that seem like that's why I feel like the boxer in the song, but that's not true. My "reminders" are things or circumstances life has thrown my way. I'm not looking for attention or pity, it is just the truth. Luckily I take after my grandma and am quite a determined little fighter! Ever since I was a baby, my mom said I would get this same determined look in my face that she had. There is a picture of me when I was only a few months old trying to crawl. My neck wasn't strong enough to hold up my head (I wasn't a normal baby that waited to do things when all the other babies were supposed to), and I had just been able to lift my head so I didn't have to push it anymore :P Anyway, I've got this look on my face of pure determination that is just uncanny. That's still me and Life can throw whatever it wants at me, but I'm going to keep fighting past it. When I die, it won't be without a fight so they can write on my gravestone "I am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remains". Yes, this might be one of the many examples of how I can be morbid, but when I heard those lyrics, I thought, "That's how I want to live my life!"

I'd say you are a very determined young lady Brittany!
I admire that quality in you!
You keep on going - against the odds - maintaining a sweet spirit about ya!
And, I think you've selected a most appropriate "theme song" for life!
We only "go 'round once" ...
and, we've got to give it our best don't we?!

You didn't say anything wrong at all in regards to the editing!
I just tend to say whatever is on my heart ...
but, sometimes I'll go back and edit ...
thinking of a better way to "word it" ...
to minimize the possibility of a misunderstanding on the part of someone who might be reading it.

I think you are a great communicator!
And, I enjoy reading your posts!
I luvs ya Brittany!

Why thank you! I admire your sweet spirit as well :) I hadn't realized until today how we both picked boxers as our . . . symbol?

I get you on editing :) In real life, I can get flustered and lose my momentum when having a discussion, and then later I think about what I could have said. I wish I could rewind and do it over then! I guess online you can in a way. I think what you do is a sign you are a good writer :)

You think I'm a good communicator? Why thank you again! And thank you as well about my posts! A lot of times I feel like I'm blabbering on with a bunch of words and hoping some will make sense :P

Luvs ya back! *hugs*

Are the rest of us being ganged up on?! ;P

It is strange, because I don't think of you BC or you Laura, of having the same personality type because you seem so different to me. I know I just went and said a bunch of nice things about BC, but that doesn't mean I can't say them about you, Laura! I guess if I read something from BC, it has a different . . . "tone"? than what I would read from Laura. I guess everyone has their own tone, though, and if we had 17 people here, no two would be the same. Does that make sense? Anyway, I reread what the results said, and they are very applicable to you as well, Laura :) I especially thought the learning was a good match. You seem to be constantly learning something or are into something and are excited to share it with us. Then I guess that shows your giving and caring side. You are a circle of love and learning :D

actually, Lou and I are very much alike in many ways ...

I hope I didn't sound like I said Laura wasn't kind? Yes, "delivery" is a good word :) I have no doubt you two are similar since you are such good friends, and whoever BC approves of, Brittany approves of ;) Although Laura already had my approval, lol! Hmm, sometime when I'm doing better, we should all get together so I can see for myself how similar you two are :) Okay, okay, and mostly because I'd love to meet all you guys!

But yes, Laura, you have shown me great kindness and I really do appreciate your friendship :) I guess you two's thought process is the same, but the manifestation is just different, and not necessarily different in a bad way, just unique.

And BC, I think if you would have had me in kindergarten or first or second grade, I might have gotten a bit of your "bluntness"!

Ahhh...Myers-Briggs...I had lots of fun reading your results. I found this test in college and wrote my hour long advanced speech presentation over it and its results. Now, I give it to my seniors at the end of the school year along with some other scientific and not so scientific personality tests...it's one of their favorite units of the year.

In our home alone, I'm the ISTJ while my hubby is the ENFP (my polar opposite, of course) and we have one child who is "the artist" and one who is "the thinker"...also polar opposites. Add to all of that fun that all 4 of us are first borns in the household...NEVER a dull moment around here...LOL!

Tam
***realized the 4 first borns might be confusing...my husband is one, I am one, our biological son is one and our adopted daughter was the firstborn to her birth mother though she has been adopted into the role of "the baby," which she enjoys sometimes but most of the time it just really irritates her that she's not the oldest (though she is by far the bossiest...haha)

Hi Tammy!

You and Diane have some admirable qualities ...
ISTJs have an excellent ability to take any task and define it, organize it, plan it, and implement it through to completion. They are very hard workers, who do not allow obstacles to get in the way of performing their duties!

jungian shcmungian. Does the test have a pathological liar , homicidal maniac, completely egocentric, narcissistic tendencies, section. I took your test BC and it told me I was a journalist. Great, another unemployable category to join. Though it would seem the lure of finding out who you are is really a good hook, I think we pretty much know who we are pre test. I believe such personality stereotyping be that however specific misses the inclusion of our spirit. Let's face it not all accountants are dull. Not all virgos are neat freaks. Look what happened to Freudian psychology post Germain Greer and womens lib. Look the worlds still flat, global warmings a hoax and i'm not a journalist no matter what the test says. love on ya Stewart

I took the test for fun and it said I am:
introvert 75% extrovert 25%
sensing 63.5 intuitive 36.5
thinking 64.5 feeling 35.5
judging 59 perceiving 41

Second on the career suggestions: librarian

Other career suggestion were the armed services, I nearly joined the Navy and wildlife conservation, I strongly considered becoming a park ranger. But the top one was a career in marketing research. That doesn't sound like me. I like all kinds of research, but NOT marketing.

What they said I shouldn't be is an actor, artist, musical performer, fashion designer, bartender, school counselor or other things I would have never considered in the first place. However, it did say that I shouldn't be a photographer. Hey, I love to take nature pictures, just not pictures with people in them.

Just submitted my homework assignment and thought I'd stop back in here before I call it a night!
Been thinking ...
and, I still agree with Stewart in that most of us probably know ourselves very well even before taking a test such as this.
Like I said, seems I've always known that I'm a "Dreamer"!
And, guess I always will be?! :)
