Subject: Tim Tams and Neti pots

Out of desperation, I tried my first Neti Pot Nasal cleanse tonight. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Nose is tingly now. I hope it makes a difference soon. I will try it a couple times a day over the coming week. Can't believe I have never heard of them until this week! Everyone I talk to seems to know about them!

Ran to Target tonight and was surprised to see Tim Tams! Yes, it appears that Pepperidge Farms went in with Arnott's and are making Tim Tams in the US. You can find them at Target in the cookie isle. Right now they are on sale, $2.50 a pack. There are 9 cookies in a pack. I, of course, had to try them. Had the caramel Tim Tams with some chi tea tonight. They taste like the "real" thing! Who'd a ever thunk? Now Aussies in the US can have their Tim Tam fix!

Debbie,

I saw Tim Tams for the first time at Target when I was in south Texas for Thanksgiving with my sister. My sister's response was "What the heck is a Tim Tam?"...her look was even funnier when I told her it was an Australian cookie...the things we learn on this board...haha! I haven't tried them yet since I'm trying (emphasis on trying) to be good and not eat much sugar thanks to my doctor. Have one for me...

Tam (no relation to the cookie :)

Speaking of hazelnut, has anyone tried Nutella? Nutello? Whatever they call it, it is the hazelnut spread like peanut butter. It looks good, I just keep forgetting to pick it up at the store to try.

Coffee Crisp sounds good. With hazelnut and a Kit Kat it would be hard to go wrong.

[> Marmite? -- Brittany, 18:00:07 12/06/10 Mon

Awe, man, you should have seen my mom when she found Marmite at a specialty store! You would have thought she won the lottery or something! She went on and on about how much she ate it in Africa and how she and her brothers would slather it on their toast like honey or jam. Wow, that stuff was disgusting! We were in England and they offered some with breakfast, and my mom was like, "See?? See?? I'm not a weirdo!"

On the other hand, I'm quite happy with how popular Nutella is getting here in the States :)

Has anyone else had experience with Marmite?

Brittany,

I should have read your post before posting. I just mentioned Nutella in another post. I haven't tried it yet but want to. As for Marmite, well, I am not a big fan. It seems to be an acquired taste that I didn't acquire.

Ewww! I had no idea what a nasal pot was until reading it here. Just gross!

Nutella and Marmite...double eewww. To me, both are acquired tastes. Marmite just sounds like some strange insect species... tastes like it too! I'll stick with foods which aren't processed, and which look like their plant origin (i.e. fruits, veggies, etc.).

Love y'all,
