Subject: Christmas In Australia ...

I believe thatI may be currently located in the wrong hemisphere right about now ...
All that precipitation from the west coast appears to be headed in our direction - possibly in the form of frozen precip?!
A beach in Australia for Christmas sounds "kinda cool"! :)

according to an article I found ...
"Temperature in Australia often soars up to 30 degrees Celsius during Christmas season. Traditional Christmas dinner includes turkey, ham and pork. Christmas plum pudding serves as desert and served enflamed. During the times of Australian gold rushes, Christmas puddings often had a gold nugget inside them, which are now replaced with small favors. Anybody who finds the favor is believed to have good luck throughout the coming year. Mince pies are also popular as treats here. Australians, especially tourists, love to have their Christmas dinner at midday on a local beach. The hot favorite beach for the purpose is the Bondi Beach situated in Sydney's eastern suburbs. Many families enjoy picnics together or spend their days swimming in pools, playing Cricket or indulging in other outdoor activities ..."

Yes, I realize the footage in this video is somewhat outdated ...
but it kinda reminds me of an "old-tyme" Christmas card! :)
so, I thought I'd share it if that's OK?!

I donno. Somehow or the other, it wouldn't feel like Christmas if it was hot. lol To me, anyway.

I understand ya Neeney!
And, I hope that everyone who is hopin' for a "White Christmas" gets their wish ...
'cause a new fallen snow is truly beautiful!
It's just that after the coldest part of winter, I don't usually "thaw out"
'til sometime near the middle of March 'cause I ain't as young as I used to be! :)
Maybe I need to do like my Grandpa ...
take a dose of Geritol everyday ...
just to get my blood circulatin'...
"warm me-self up" just a bit?! :)

Forget the Geritol!
A slug of Scotch warms you through and through!

Well, I must admit ...
I had thought about that too LauraG! :)
Don't guess I will though?!
Can you believe I've never had any alcohol 'cept for a "smidge" of "J.D." in a "hot toddy" my Grandpa made for me one time when I was very young and very sick?!
Unless the wine we tasted this past summer at 4Vines counts?! :)
'cause I really liked the Syrah's - especially when added alongside the chocolate pieces! :)

*** just remembered this one other time ...
my Dad asked me to taste some of his "homemade brew" one time - many years ago! Didn't like that at all! It smelled like kerosene and tasted kinda like vinegar. I don't think he had the "recipe" quite right?! :) Or, maybe it's just an "acquired taste" ?! :)
