Subject: hello

As usual my opening line is one of apology but I've now caught up as it were re some of the posts here and have a few things to say. Firstly in was a pleasure to indeed actually meet two of the posters on this board in person and I so appreciate both Lauras and BCs effort in seeking me out. It's true most people around here know I was in this series or that movie etc. however the ladies visit to the tasting room started a whole plethora of questions about what was Christy about ? When did this happen ?What did you do in it?etc etc etc. Pretty funny actually.
Im sorry the end came Three Kings. Very little of what is left of Christy is truly about Catherine Marshalls story. i'm glad you got to talk to some of the players most of whom came post facto. I've started my "Christy,What Lies beneath the Mission" book several times but find it hard to further sully what once was indeed a book born out of a noble spirit. Perhaps it's age, perhaps its out of a fleeting respect I still have for some who deserve none.Who knows ?. Sometimes the truth is just plain ugly and not the least bit noble, righteous or otherwise. Ones initial impulse to set records straight or attempt to educate the ignorant is in itself an exercise in ego and to be honest one must be honest on all levels including with ones own self. To want "payback" is a primitive reaction and I'd like to believe i've evolved away from being someone who could now ever be driven by such a base instinct. It's hard sometimes but then considering what i've actually endured in my life these things are mere trifles. The secrets being kept will at least as far as I'm concerned have to remain secrets. Older is Wiser. Those dogs can stay asleep . Love on Yall Stewart

Thank you for the thoughts.....I don't feel bad at all about how the whole thing unfolded. I still don't think it was a waste of time and I am still glad I did it. I think all things in life that have merit teach us something about ourselves in the process. Even the bad things, sadly. Though I do not know any of the particulars, nor do I wish to, I myself struggle with not saying what I want to say when I know the truth.

Though some behind the scene guides add to the overall thrill and understanding of the movie or series, you have often said that you are a very public person and because of that are viewed very critically. That kind of honesty ALWAYS come with a price.

I haven't given up on writing in general, and neither should you. If you feel inclined to write, you should do so, but write on what you are passionate on. What you love, SFM. There will always be those interested in that.

Be encouraged....

Oh, and I hear someone is having a birthday soon....Wonder who?

The kids got your card and mailed it this week to DS and I for one and glad it is in the mail. I love ya, but if they played the song one more time I was going to go crazy. You'll have to let me know if the postal people smash it before arrival---the kids would be happy to sing it and post it online for you if they did.

I hope not though. It was funny.

Kings,

I got the package in the mail this evening when I got home from Open House. So, I couldn't mail it today but it will be in the mail tomorrow, in plenty of time for Stewart's birthday!

Stewart,

Great to hear from you. I will never fully understand ALL that went on behind the scenes although I met many of the players, partially because I am naive and too often cluelessly living in my own little world and partially because I still want to believe in the best in people. Everyone has some light and dark in them. Sometimes you only see one side while others get a view of the other side or both.

It is hard not to want or try to fight back when you feel an injustice was committed against. But as you know, my only niece was raped and murdered nine years ago this December. This was absolute, there was nothing I could ever say or do to set anything strait. A great injustice had been done to my niece, her husband and our families and we were utterly, completely, helplessly devastated. But not until I let go of the anger, disgust and intolerable rage I felt for this man and his actions could I look back at the memory of my niece without it being dominated by visions of her tragic, violent, undeserved death. After letting go of the anger my memory is still bittersweet but more sweet than bitter. I remember more the wonderful, energetic, happy brief life and not only the unfair death. I will still fight for the murderer to stay behind bars and lament the family and future my niece and her husband never had but I let go of the chains of revenge because they were controlling not only my emotions but my memories. Some injustices can be fought against but others just have to be let go . . .

Debbie S.

Hi, Stewart-it's so wonderful to "meet" you. I'm fairly new to this board, but it's been great getting to meet everyone.

Just thought you would be interested to know that you have a fairly large college girl-fan base! My friends and I (mostly recent grads of universities here in Florida) are SUPER-HUGE fans! We love the Christy series, because it's such a great, wholesome show with lots of terrific messages. (And of course, we have been known to have "MacNeill nights" where we watch the best episodes/moments with maximum MacNeill-screentime.)

Anyway, I appreciate that you left a message-just know that you have really blessed alot of people through your gift of acting. Take care, and I hope we can hear from you soon!

~Blake Lynne Neumann (yes, despite the manly name, I am a female!) :)

Well, to be brief ...
it doesn't hurt to dream ...
'cause sometimes ...
they actually do come true! :)

While on vacation this summer ...
I traveled to CA ...
met up with a friend of mine named "LauraG"!
*** btw, she visits here at "Stewart's place" from time to time as well!
Anyways ...
While staying in Paso Robles, LauraG and I stopped by a local winery called "Four Vines"!
http://www.fourvines.com/About_4V.html
Our host was very informative and helpful as we sampled the various wines!
Let me see now ...
I'm trying to remember that guy's name!
Oh yeah ...
it was Stewart Finlay-McLennan! :)

Hello Stewart! I was very excited to see your post the other day. I've only been posting on the sight for a little while now and am amazed at the wonderful people who gather here and the variety of thoughts and genuine caring that they share.

I thought it was interesting when you mentioned ego in your post and about not being reactive to situations. That is a goal of mine that I am working on- I tend to say what I think impulsively, rather than pondering about an incident or situation before I add my two cents.

My calendar's quote for the month is from Eckhart Tolle-
"Nonreaction to the ego in others is one of the most effective ways not only of going beyond ego in yourself but also of dissolving the collective human ego." Last month's was " The elemination of time from your consciousness is the elimination of ego. It is the only true spiritual practice. What we are speaking of is the elimination of pychological time, which is the egoic mind's endless preoccupation with past and future and its unwillingness to be one with life by living in alignment with the inevitable isness of the present moment."
Enough philosophy- but I'm definitely trying to live and enjoy moments more!

Anyway, thanks for coming back and posting on the board for all of us! It seems there are alot of things about the Christy series and movies that I am not aware of- but I certainly love watching them and you in them! Take care , JennOK
