Subject: Speaking of birthdays

Since we're talking about personal and national birthdays, I wish to direct your attention to next Sunday, July 14. Those of you with a decent knowledge of European history will recognize this date as Bastille Day, the day that France, a somewhat relevant country, celebrates as their day of independence from the cruel monarchy that ruled over them (which they replaced with a cruel dictatorship that masqueraded as a democracy, and then some short guy removed all the pretenses...).

More importantly, it's my birthday! I shall be...um...a bit older than most of you! One of you whipper-snappers better get me my cane! :-p
