Legendary Autobot and I were standing outside the dealer room when we bump into the short gentleman. He seems like a rather nice fellow, and I note that he's in the middle of Fort Wayne, IN, speaking with a British accent. I think to myself, "Could it be him?" But no, it wasn't Prince Charles, it was some guy by the name of Simon Furman. :b We had a quick chat. I jokingly mentioned that I didn't like "Nemesis, Part 2" very well. I think he ignored that comment.

Various tidbits from collecting autographs on Sunday, in which I got nine men to write in a small black notebook that I miraculously found in my glove compartment that morning:

1) I got Peter Spellos to write a haiku I wrote a while back:

"Make a new haiku?
Poetry is too much work--
I would rather not!"

He got a small chuckle out of that. A small one. For some reason he also felt compelled to inform me that poetry is not too much work. "It's called irony," I wanted to say. I didn't.

2) Neil Kaplan wrote that he didn't know what to think about writing in my "little black book."

3) Dick Gautier told me that once the book was full, he'd by it from me for $4.

4) Wankus showed up late to the autograph session. Reportedly, his alarm clock malfunctioned. Michael McConnohie speculated that the "malfunction" was that the bar was open until 3 AM. His autograph consisted of a "W" with a circle around it.

5) Bob Forward was actually having people sign his BotCon program. I wrote, "Beast Wars was almost as good as Beast Machines. Kidding!" I wonder what he thought of that.
