I agree, there is a snobbery connected with collecting, i.e. stamps and tin soldiers = OK, cool shiny toys with transforming abilities = not OK. Even people who collect airline sick-bags are seen as lovably eccentric whereas we are seen as ‘big kids’, I wonder who the grand high council of judges of collecting are to make the rules of what is acceptable collecting and what isn’t … just wait until I hit them with my collection of rare Peruvian nose hair trimmers!

However back to my original posting, as far as I can make out from the replies only two of you (Coyotek and Ghilz) are in a current relationship. Damn I was really hoping to have stumbled on to a haven of guys with understanding partners to give me some hope. Does this mean that I am right in my assumption that if I want to find someone warm, soft and cuddly to share my evenings with then I am going to have to build a secret room in my house and stash my beloved family of tin and plastic friends and visit them when the night is dark and nobody can see me? Maybe I could put dresses and wigs on them and pretend they are antique dolls, albeit particularly ugly ones!

Ah well, maybe we should just all meet up on a bitter bachelor’s night out, eye up a few women, sigh sadly and then spend the rest of the evening doing spare part swapsies, “Trade you these two guns for that arm?”

Finally thanks for all the warm welcoming messages :))) I am looking forward to visiting often.
