We also inherited Amy's home place after her sister passed, and bought her grandfather's land and house--all adjacent to our "homestead"...extending our holdings (and taxes).

Moodling is a writing "term", describing the recording of observations and reactions...not really southern...
Sometimes it includes poetry...you know how certain music, a scent, or a sight can put you into a "mood"? When you react to that mood by writing --you're moodling....you've done it--just didn't know you did...
