Subject: My View On Iraq

Hi Friends. Here is what my take is on Iraq.
Where to start..
Saddam is a brutal, brutal Dictator. That's nothing new. We all know and acknowledge that. We also acknowledge he has killed hundreds of thousands over the course of his reign. Iranians, Iraqi Kurds, and members of his own family for God sake. If memory servs correctly, I recall hearing that Saddam wants to be the leader of the Islamic people. This guy really and disturbingly reminds me of, ( now is where some of you say oh this guy is nuts ), ADOLPH HITLER.........
I mean think about it. Read the history books. Look at how hitler came to power and how he treated people. Read about how long it took the United States to join the fight against one of the most dangerous dictators in history. Because people said he was no threat to us. It is a European problem, not ours.
I am sick of people saying this is about OIL. Do you have any idea what would happen if Saddam were allowed to stay in power and continue his weapons programs. He would not have to have a big military like he used to have. He could wipe out Israel in a matter of hours with chemical and biological missiles. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait with the same artilery shells and missiles. Most of you have no clue what chemical and bio weapons are capible of. How they kill and agonizing a death it is. In most cases it is a slow and terrible way to die. Those unfortunate enough to live, wish they were one of the dead.
Saddam is a menace, and he will give terrorists theses weapons if he hasn't already. Has he, I don't know. I am a veteran. My younger brother is a Gulf War veteran. If I was called to go take out Saddam, I would go in a heart beat. Why??? Because I feele as though Saddam is a threat to us. Not by way of shutting off oil, but by his having and history of using weapoms of mass destruction. To me, I have an obligation to help protect this country like so many be fore me. I never had to go to war when I was in the Army. But I would have gone if needed without any reservations or disagreements. No I wasn't a robot that obeyed every command. I'm a firm believer in an old phrase, "blind faith in your leaders, will get you killed". But people lead because they usually know what they are doing. So, I guess my whole point is, Let's give our leaders a chance. whether you like them or not, they are the leaders of this great nation.
Thanks for listening. That's My View. JOE
