Subject: Tribal government vs Democratic
In reply to: JOEBIALEK 's message, "MIDDLE EAST" on 17:37:33 02/22/03 Sat

Hi Joe,

I think you have a good point. As civilization developed, the Middle East was a crossroads for commerce between India, China, and Europe. The Arab/Muslim culture was positioned to benefit and did so. They thrived. But as time went on their lack of ability to organize into a nation wide force was a weakness. They also allowed regional tribes to rule their respective areas. In short, they have never grown out of a form of feudalism.

Today, their position on top of the world's oil supply puts them back into situation to benefit. But tribalism rewards the leaders who are the worst of the worst. The worst tyrant rises to the top. People who play by the rules or show respect for human rights always lose. They are trying to use those same tactics worldwide that were successful regionally. In short, they use our own respect for freedoms and human rights as soft target to attack us.

As far as 9/11 goes, I think you are right on the money. It was the wake-up call we needed to take these vermin seriously. We can't live in denial any longer. Once we give these people their countries back, we will al be better off.

Richard
