Subject: New source for info on Iraqi WMD

Good morning everyone,

The Washington Post is reporting that the US is getting new information from new sources regarding Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. US sources are putting pressure on Iraqi officials now outside of Iraq telling them that if they don't cooperate now, they may be complicit after Iraq falls.
In a top-secret adjunct to an openly reported diplomatic initiative, U.S. and allied intelligence services summoned scores of Iraqi operatives in foreign capitals to present a stark choice. They were told "they could either 'turn,' " said one official, using an expression for switching sides, or be expelled back to Iraq "to enjoy your very short stay in Baghdad." U.S. Reaps New Data On Weapons

We can infer several things from this. First, the US feels confident that Iraq does have significant WMD and is looking for them. Second, it tells us that the US feels that there is enough dissent in the Iraqi governmental structure that this may bear fruit. All in all, it is great news!

Richard
