Hi Cindy,

I think we are are researching the same line. I am a decendent of Roland/Rowland Cleaveland who lived most, if not all, his life in and around Chillicothe, Livingston Co., MO. His parent's were John (b. 1816) and Artimisia (b. 1817) Cleveland, who moved to Missouri from Harrison, Co., KY around 1850.So far, I've been unable to determine the parentage of either John or Artimisia, both had the last name Cleveland at the time of their marriage and they were reputedly cousins.

In my research, however, I have run across a John Cleveland (1755-1832)in Harrison Co., KY, who I suspect is related to at least one of them. It sounds like he's probably related to you, too.

I have a transcription of this John Cleveland's Revolutionary War pension application and it has all kinds of useful information. I don't have my files in front of me, but I know that the application indicates that this John Cleveland married Elizabeth Robinson in 1782 in Frederick County, VA. [In other records, I've seen her name listed as Robertson and apparently the two were used somewhat interchangeably.]

I haven't been able to verify the names of all their children (though they definately had sons named William and John), but I'm pretty sure I've seen Hannah listed as one of his daughters. I'll look through my files and get back to you.

If anyone out there is interested, I'll post the info. to the whole list.

Joyce Miller

p.s. The John Cleveland in Harrison co., KY, is the brother of George Cleveland (married to Hester Sherwood) in Jessamine, KY.
