Hello Clevelands

I have a problem connecting my ancestry, working thru ancestry.com, and my own historical records.

My mom was Helen J Cleveland. My grandfather was Howard Edward Cleveland (1897-1956). My mother's records show his father as Milton Denzil Cleveland (1840-1925). These family records further show his father as (unknown) Cleveland and (unknown) Crocker. The Cleveland Geneology book shows these two to be Jonathan Cleveland (1824-1904) and Huldah Ann Crocker (1823-1887), with a child John Milton Cleveland (1850-).

Other Ancestry.com family tress take John Milton Cleveland to be the "Milton" that I am looking for, without acknowledging or explaining the name discrepancy. The geneology PAF from this site shows this Jonathan Cleveland having a single son, Joseph, who does not appear in the Cleveland Genealogy book.

Undoubtably, I am descended from Moses Cleveland. I would love to bridge (with sources) this gap.

Any ideas, anyone?
