I am attempting to research my family name again after a long absences from doing this . My family line is rumored to have started in slavery in Fairfax County Va. with an Addison/Adison Cleveland. It is believed that he was taken to New Orleans,La . This is the Linage from Lousiana that I have been given Alfred Cleveland son of Addison had was fought in the Civil War He was possible in the 10th regiment , E company which was formed in Louisana possible in Rapides Parrish . His 1st wife may have been named Serena. The name of three of his sons: Robert , Jerry(my great-great grandfather) and James. Jerry 's first wife was name Agnes they had at least 12 children : Lena, Nellie, Henretta, Ben Agnes,Charlie, Allen, Abe, Alfred , Lucinda, Jerry and James(my grandfather) James Cleveland(my grandfather) married Lucille Matthews in Rapides Parrish,Louisana they had sic children : Bessie, Jerry , Lena,
Allen(my father),Hester, Laura and Sammy.
What I am looking for is any slave records that would give a connection to Va. or any additional information about this linage of Clevelands
