My great grandfather's name was Philemon (not sure of the spelling) Cleveland. Don't know his
birth place or date. Me married Martha Desmuke. Their son, my grandfather, was Wesley
Eugene Cleveland, born in 1870' or 80's in Port Aransas, TX., and married Ida Catherine Wallace,
born in Mission, Tx. Don't know her birth date, but died in 1938 in Galveston, TX. Does anyone
out there have reference to Philemon or any of the other names mentioned in their research?

At this time, I don't have anything on a Philemon Cleveland in the CFCRS database. However, I
checked into the 3-volume Cleveland genealogy, and there are two listings for a Philemon
Cleveland and one for a Philemon Orlando Cleveland. The second Philemon *may* be your line
since he was from Texas? He was married twice, and by his first wife (Catherine Idelburg) he
had a son named Philemon, b. Jan., 1859, Indianola, Calhoun County, TX. Nothing more is
mentioned about the younger Philemon here, though. (The copyright date of the Cleveland
genealogy is 1899.) A note on the older Philemon says that he went to Kansas in 1847 and then
to Rockport, Arkansas County, TX. By Catherine, he had four other children: Lorena, May
Virginia, John Leander, and Orrason. By his second marriage (to Eveline Desmeeko), he had
Leona, W.U., Byrdie, Charles, and Rufus. He was a farmer, and this was his line: Philemon
Cleveland < Orrason Cleveland < Noadiah Cleveland < Aaron Cleveland < Benjamin Cleveland
< Aaron Cleveland < Moses Cleveland (Northern Line). I hope this information will provide
some clues for you? Good luck with your research! Love and blessings, Vikki L. Jeanne
