I am confused!! One message above says that John Wesley Cleveland, m. to Emma
Jane Dyer and Alice Collison, was born to William Cleveland & Eliza Harr Riddle, the
other says that John Wesley Cleveland b. 1839 to John and Artimisia Cleveland. Can
anyone straighten me out.

Yes, that confused me for quite a while until I found out they were two different
people. Both were born about the same time in the same state. If you think that's
confusing consider this, There is one John Wesley Cleveland married to Nancy (Dyar)
and my great grandfather John Wesley Cleveland married Jane (Dyer). Whew,be careful
out there.

Is your great grandfather the John Wesley who then married Alice Collison? If so he
would be my great grandfather also.

To further stir the "John Wesley" pot, my great-great-grandfather is the John Wesley
who married Nancy Dyar. I have been having trouble finding much about either of
them, so if anyone has information on this particular Cleveland, I'd appreciate it.

The John Wesley that married Nancy Caroline Dyar was my great grandfather. He was
born 2/1850 in Oak Bowers, GA., just north of Hartwell, GA. He is the son of

John/Mollie McCan. He and Nancy had Lou Etta-1869; Indiana, 1871; Reuben K.
Joseph, 1873; Minnie E.,1876; Myra Capatola, 1878; ROSA LEE(My Grandmother),1880;
Possibly an infant that died; Thomas A, 1883; George Sidie, 1887; Wesley Earnest,
1889; Emma, 1892; and Columbus Obadiah, 1895. In 1880 he and a couple of his
brothers left Hart County, GA and moved to Marshall County, AL, settling around Boaz
and Blount. He died in April 1929 and is buried in the Friendship Baptist Church
Cemetery, Marshall Co., AL. Although not a member, he gave land to build the Clear
Creek Baptist Church, Marshall Co. PLEASE CONTACT ME,I am attemping to put the

The name "Wesley" seems to be fairly prevalent in the Cleveland lineage. My grandfather's
name wa Welsey Eugene Cleveland. He was born in Port Aransas,TX. His father was Philemon
Cleveland. I have no info beyond this. Does onyone out here have Philemon's name in their
lineage?
