> I am interested in the descendents of Benjamin Cleveland(b. March 9, 1783 in
Hardwick, MA) and Lydia Cooper Cleveland. I have been told that they lived in PA.,
Ohio, Michigan and finally Middleton, WI, in Dane County.Their children were Stephen,
Joseph, Charles, Laura, Benjamin,Lydia, George Washington, (our)Gilbert Moshem
Marquis de Lafayette, Betsey or Mary, and Christopher Columbus. Some of the children
dropped off along the way. Stephen, Laura and Persis stayed in Michigan. Christopher
Columbus, George and Benjamin lived for some time in Nebraska. However, I believe
that the father Benjamin, son Benjamin, Joseph and "Lafe" bought land in Dane County.
I have seen several posts about Cleveland's in Illinois. Does anyone know if any of the
children of Benjamin and Lydia Cooper Cleveland were part of the group that stayed in
Illinois? Father Benjamin died and was buried in Dane County. Lydia Cooper Cleveland
moved on to Marion County,Iowa with sons, Lafe and ? She is buried in Knoxville next
to Lafe.Willing to share info I have on this group of Clevelands.

I have found this all very interesting. Was given this info by Grace Green who I met some time ago through her husband. I was borne in Hillsdale Michigan both my Father and Grand father were named Orison and my father and I think my Grandfather were borne there also. This is all I know about my famly so can't be of any help to any one.I had 3 sons James Jr,Edmond & Orson Robert who was Killed in 1980 at the age of 23. all of the desendants of Orison Jr (My father) now live in Brevard County Florida.I have often thought it would be nice too know more about where we came from but don't have a clue as to where to look.

Vicie,
I don't know if this is the same line, but I have a bunch of family that are from the Wausau and surrounding areas. I often see alot of references made to Clevelands in the southern states but not too many in the North. I'll have to go back and check my paperwork and see if I can find any of the names you've listed. I'll get back to you.

Thanks,
Donna Cleveland

I tried to write to you at your e-mail address but the message bounced back to me. I am a descendant of Benjamin Clevland/Lydia Cooper also through Gilbert Moshem Marquis de Lafayette Cleveland. The rest of my line from Gilbert is Benjamin, Herbert, Herbert Jay Jr, and then myself. Willing to share Cleveland info with you.
