Subject: Transformer Energon figures now out!

I'm sure most of you reading this would already know that Transformer Energon figures hit Australian toy shelves last Thursday.

So far, they've only been sighted at Target and independent toy stores such as Uncle Pete's/Toyworld. The basics are selling for $16, deluxes range from $26-28, and I can't remember the prices of the boxed figures off the top of my head.

So far I've nabbed Skyblast, Strongarm, Rodimus Prime and Hot Shot. Battle Ravage looks really ugly and isn't a priority for me right now. Starscream looked really disappointing. Let's face it, fundamentally speaking, that toy is nothing more than a slightly upsized retool of G2 Smokescreen. Yeah yeah yeah, I know it's a completely original mould etc., but really... it's virtually an upsize. Considering that I already have G2 Smokescreen, BW Starscream and Smokejumper, I find myself in no real hurry to obtain the EN Starscream mould.

I had a play with dirge's Snowcat. I was kinda disappointed that the canopy couldn't open so I can put a Diaclone pilot inside. What a shame. The wiper blade also seems to lift off the windscreen when it swings down, which is rather silly.

The Super Link gimmick is cool. It's certainly a step up from the old G1 Multi-Force figures.
