That's a really good question and one that doesn't seem to have been answered so far.

Even if the MiniCons' ship was called the Armada, it's not a very appropriate name, since an armada tends to refer to a flotilla of naval warships, as opposed to a single barge full of interstellar refugees.

Even when the Autobots and Decepticons came to Earth, they used the Space Bridge -- again, no sign of any fleets that could be classified as an armada.

I think "Micron Legend" (Micron Densetsu) is a more appropriate name, since at least the Microns (Minicons) are a significant part of the story (cos ya gotta catch 'em all!) and it makes a helluva lot more sense than "armada", which seems to be a word that Hasbro has randomly tacked onto this toyline.

First we had Car Robot renamed as "Robots In Disguise," even though with their visible insignias in vehicular modes, they weren't really terribly well disguised vehicles -- but even then I could let that slide. But "Armada"? Where's the armada???

At this stage, I'd say that Armada is a rather inappropriate name for the toyline, for even if the Minicon ship was called the Armada, and even if we were to see a massive armada towards the end of the series, the fact is that the name would, at best, refer to a plot device for the TV show, rather than something meaningful to the actual toy line itself.
