It shouldn't change it so long as Unicron continues to actually eat worlds.

Consider the following:

1/ It's not at all unusual for predators to attack and damage their prey before consumption.

2/ Unicron has always seem primarily concerned with destroying Cybertron rather than eating it. In TFTM, we see him attacking Cybertron and tearing chunks out of it, but we don't actually see him eating at it. We do however, see Unicron taking bites out of Cybertron in US#75 of the comic series.

3/ The reason why Unicron devours and destroys worlds isn't primarily to survive. Unicron is a god who can live on eternally - even in disincorporated form. The main reason why Unicron preys on worlds is because he wants to destroy all creation and become one with the Void again. To him, creation is like a disease which need to be eradicated. Whether he does so by devouring it, or simply destroying it is inconsequential. If creation is seen as a disease, then Unicron would be an all-purpose white blood cell, with several methods of dispatching "germs" at his disposals.
