OK, I'll admit that my 'lil rig idled a tad rough, but she'd run on 92 octane pump gas without detonating, and drive anywhere that you wanted to go without having to constantly watch the 'ol "temp gauge".. (chuckle)
The secret was in the combustion chamber and piston top preparation, but you already know that. Thank God that pump gas is more forgiving than nitro-methane is, huh? Now if only pump gas could be enriched to hold down the detonation like nitro does, wouldn't life be good? (grin)
