Gjøran Thora ble f. 11.10.1876, og dp. 21.01.1877 i Storelvdal. Hun var "uægte" datter av pige Gjøran Tronsdtr Koppang og ungk. Ole Børresen fra Veldre.
16.05.1908 ble hun gift med Herman Helgesen Messelt i Storelvdal. Følgende anmerkning er innført: "Ved Kgl. resolution 25/4 07 blev hendes ægteskab opløst. Ved Kgl. resolution 7/5 07 er meddelt tilladelse til at indgaa nyt ægteskab."
De hadde barna Haavard 1909 og Magne 1911.
