Opplysninger hentet fra Hof Bygdebok, bind III, side 280.
Karens foreldre var ifølge boka Knut Martinsen (Mortensen) 1826-1878, dreier og husmann på Saga (Rognbakken) under Nordre Kveset i 1861. Det står at han var født på Nerby. Knut var gift med Karen Johannesdatter f.ca. 1828 i Åsnes. De fikk mange barn deriblant Karen f. 1864.

Se også side 373, Sno (Farlisno), hvor Oles foreldre er omtalt (Erik Mortensen 1816-84 og Eline Olsdatter 1825-78) og side 517, Brubakk u. Arneberg, hvor Oles 1.hustru er omtalt.

Selv om opplysningene ikke er hentet fra primærkildene håper jeg det kan være et utgangspunkt for videre leting etter aner.
