Dear Nishrin,
I am a teacher with two dyslexic sons. Unfortunately, school can sometimes be a difficult place for children like ours. Schools should be about preparing children to become confident and capable adults. It is important that you visit the school and explain to the staff that your daughter has developed very low self esteem and give them the reasons why. Express your concern about her being ridiculed. Good teachers should be able to handle this. At home your daughter needs to feel special and appreciated for the gifts that she has. Is she a kind and caring person for example? Let her look at the website "Famous people who have the gift of dyslexia" and discuss this page with her. Find a sympathetic teacher who can direct you to someone who can help your daughter overcome her learning difficulties. Be proud of your daughter. I'm sure she will grow into and extraordinary adult just like my sons did.
