You can have your child formally tested by a pyschologist in your area. Also, the schools & our pediatrician had thought that my son had ADHD, but in reality he just had dyslexia & dysgraphia. It just seemed that he was over active because he didn't understand what was going on in the classroom so he just didn't want to pay attention. The best way we were told to think about this was, imagine that you as an adult were sitting in a classroom where everyone spoke and wrote in chinese. Would you be able to pay attention? No, you would want to fidget around and look like you had ADD as well. Good luck in getting your child formally diagnosed. It will be a big help to the both of you.
