Your dr. is absolutely correct. The SI joints are:
*the last joint in the body to fully form,
*the least symmetric joint in the body
*one of the largest joint by area in the body
*exposed to phenomenal stress every day.

Fusion of the ow back forces even more stress on this joint... it's no wonder that 's inflamed.. if I had to do the work of four bones I'd be upset, too!

I treat this condition in my office all the time, but understand that it will be something that will always loom in the horizon in the future... FUSIONS ARE FOREVER, I say.
