While the "every category" law has been good for the profession generally, it is only beneficial for some of the DC's in this state. With most panels for the large insurers closed (even to DC's going already contracted offices)it is nearly impossible for new practices to start up because it is very difficult to convince people to pay for care they can get elsewhere w/ insurance (in this case it would almost be better if there were no coverage). It can also be difficult to take on an associate, because they then have to bill under the other DC's name/number(technically fraudulent but it's done anyway). Regardless, my point is that an "any willing provider" measure is as, if not more important than the "every category" law.
