Stephanie,
I worked in chiropractic school from tri 3- tri 10. Most likely you will not be able to earn enough $ part-time to support yourself completely. I took advantage of the student loan living expenses. This takes pressure off of you while you're going through the rigors of school, although you have to pay it back. My husband and I did the same thing, graduated the same day, have twice the student loans, and are doing just fine. One thing I will suggest if you plan on opening your own office (which you will most likely have to do if you plan on making enough to pay your loans!) You say you have a lucrative job now, do you have a house? ASSETS are the major determining factor in getting a small business loan. Many of us who went straight through school graduated with no assets, the main thing you need to get a business loan. If you have a house, I would keep it-- if you're moving, I'd buy another one if your situation allows. As far as the $$ for chiropractic school, just go for the gusto and know that your hard work will pay off for you!!
