I too have been suffering from chronic depression and want to return to studies again. Try prayer.......
It really helps. Be like the prodigal son who returned to his father. You too, despite what impression you think that the Father in heaven has about you; you can return to him if you are tired of suffering and want the pain to stop.
You will need social support since we are beings that need to belong. We really need to belong to someone (a group, friend, support group,or church group).
A sense of belonging helps you when you get caught in one of those sprialing tornados of depression; the ones that suck you right in leaving you with an uncertain outcome.
Its hard....some days are worse than others.
I've founf the most bearable days to be the ones when i allow God in.
Other days are just too difficult to handle.
I too have recurrent suicidal thoughts sometimes everyday.
I have founf that the catholic church has many psychologist nuns; they provide good counselling & support for FREE and they are available anytime.
I have also found strength by reading the bible; don't ask me how.....i just know that when i read it(even just 15 mins a day) the following day improves.
I've found that a little scripture reading goes a long day.
I've have founf the catholic church to have organized support groups and activities that provide excellent support sometimes by simply having someone to listen to you.
I think that we need to let things out...all the hurt & sadness before we can begin to allow happiness back in.
Take one day at a time.
Live each day as it it truly was your last; what do you have to lose.
Also ask your catholic church priest if he knows anyone who could get you a job........independence does help
Take care
Your friend
Rodz
