Subject: Fourteen years ago today.....

I had a baby boy! I still remember when they pulled him out of my stomach (I had an emergency c-section)...If I hadn't seen him right then I wouldn't have believed that was my baby. He had dark skin, a head full of jet black hair and he looked like an oriental baby. He was so cute...but for those of you who know what I look like, I'm extremely fair skinned with blond hair. Matt's dad has light brown hair. After a few months, Matt lost all his hair and when it came back it was almost white. Now it's dark blond, like mine. But he does tan really well, but so does his dad, my sister and my dad. He had yellow jaundice at birth which made him look more tan.

It doesn't seem like 14 years. He's off at his dad's. He's been there for a week and is staying another week before coming home. I really miss him, and even more so since this is his birthday.

Next week I have to go to court for mediation...still the same old crap with his dad wanting everything scheduled out. And if we don't work it out in mediation, I have to go July 10th for a judge to hear it and make a decision. Matt's dad gave me calendars with the visitation scheduled out through the year 2006...all the dates he wants. In June of 2006, Matt will be 18. My point is that what is the use to schedule out all these specific dates when Matt is starting high school and in the next four years, he'll get his license, probably start dating, maybe he'll join some clubs or sports in school or want to go to other school functions? He's sure to want to change visitation at some point and then we'll be right back to his dad griping about how it's HIS scheduled time and Matt griping about no one caring about his feelings and me caught right in the middle. I've already told his dad that Matt can visit any time he wants to and lately that seem to work out good for the ex because Matt's been up there a lot. So what is the problem??? Heck, if I know.

Anyway, enough of that.

Scott's on changing shifts now. He's working this weekend from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. I hate that part of it. Makes me lonesome. Today Bill and I went to the SC and GA visitor centers. We live about 20 miles from the state line.. I got some brochures. Then we went to Krispy Kreme and got some doughnuts, came home and ate spagetti, donuts and watched Sound of Music. Scott got home around 7:45 pm but was in bed by 9:00.

Tomorrow I desperately need to do some laundry and housework..fun, fun! And Bill and I might think of something to amuse ourselves. It's too hot to do much outside but maybe some good movies or something.

Take care,
Sandy
