Subject: Gemmy--I thought of you yesterday

Hi Gem...yesterday, I had to go to Meijers (a store like Walmart..I wasn't sure if there were any in Florida) Anyway, I was getting out of work, and on my way to a therapy appt, so I was in a hurry. I had maybe 15 items, and it was too much for the u-scan machines. Every time I go to that store, no matter how long the lines are, I end up in this one woman's line. She is probably close to 70, and her name is Annamarie. A very pleasant woman, but so slow that I feel that I will celebrate another birthday while I am in line.

Most of the time I am not in a hurry when I am there. I have learned that it isn't worth the aggravation getting upset in line. There was only one customer ahead of me, with a few items as well. Well, throughout the course of the transaction, there were 2 price checks, a jammed up computer that the manager had to erase, and a bunch of coupons that for some reason would not scan. I was starting to watch the time, shift around in my place, roll my eyes, etc. I knew my therapist would take issue with me being late, cause we have had a few problems this week with my compliance...hehehehe

But you know what??? I thought of you...and how angry customers get to you. So I settled down, and eventually, the transaction was completed and she got to mine. I started to talk to her..ask her if she liked her job, etc.
She was really nice, and she felt like she would never get
faster because of her arthritis. So see...there is a story behind everyone. I took the time to find out a bit about her, and she felt better, and it calmed me down. I was 10 minutes late to see the therapist. Oh well...he had to deal for once!!! LOL

Anyway...Pay it forward...it's worth it!!!!!!

Love, Mikki
