I would be worried also. It does not sound like this guy is management material. I don't think you are overreacting. Can you talk to a supervisor above him and express your concerns? About the switching doctor business, that can mean lots of things. Maybe switching is an avoidance technique.... maybe the old doc was not equipped to handle this guy... who knows. I know for sure that every person has the right to work in a safe environment, and be confident that the management team above them is committed to providing just that.
