While on one hand I am sad, on the other I know you have emerged as an even stronger, courageous woman determined to do what's best for herself and her son.
I admire and respect you and hope this New Year brings you what you deserve in life--the best. And I'm very pleased that you and he can remain friends, sometimes that's such a big part of the battle, I know, I remember my parent's divorce, my dad and stepmom's near divorce, and my sister's three divorces before she met her longest term husband.
Mom and Dad don't talk to each other, but occasionally relay messages through me and atleast all is forgiven.
I really commend you and your ex for settling things this way.
