I hope your friend finds the strength to get out of the situation. Unfortunately, a lot of women leave, go to shelters, try to hide and the husband keeps finding them and sometimes ends up killing them. What is wrong with men like that? I don't understand their need to dominate and use violence against someone they profess to love.

I know I'd never live in that situation. The only way they could keep me from leaving would be to kill me. I won't be beat on. I can't even stand anyone to yell at me. Well, it depends on who's doing the yelling. In some cases I'd just get mad and give it back. But if Scott yelled at me, I'd be reduced to tears because I'd think that meant he didn't love me. I'm too sensitive. I heard so much yelling, cussing, etc. growing up...now all I want is for everyone to get along and some peace and quiet.
