Subject: On a brighter note

Scott had to take my stepdad's trailer that we used for hauling stuff, back to NC Saturday and my nephew went back with him. My nephew will be 16 next week. He had been down all week with Matthew. Scott spent the night at Mom and Robert's house and then came back yesterday. Matthew and I decided to go to Augusta and do a little exploring. We didn't have a lot of shopping money with this court case, but we wanted to see what they have there. Columbia will have more malls because of being a bigger city but that's an hour away. Augusta is only 17 miles from here. They have one big mall with Dillards, JC Penney, Sears, Richs (which I'd never heard of), Macy's, and then a bunch of other stores you find in malls. Then they have another area with strip malls. They have CompUSA, Circuit City, Old Navy, Goodys, Mansours, Bath Bed & Beyond, and a bunch more. There was this really pretty building that almost looked like a castle with lots of colors and lights. Matt wanted to see what it was so we rode by it. It's a big theater...Regal Cinemas 20. Then there is another area with Sams, Kmart, Walmart, etc. Somewhere there is a Belk store, but we haven't found it yet and I know there are other big strip malls that we haven't located yet.

Also, we rode through Augusta. They have big univerity there. They have a large broad street running through downtown. It looks like the kind of big southern city you see in the movies. They have a riverwalk running along the Savannah River, which the town borders. Scott, Matt and I had already explored that, but didn't get to the museums. There's one called Fort Discovery that Matt wants to go back to and then there is a history museum on the riverwalk too. There's a cotton exchange museum. Lots of cool stuff.

That was fun.

Matt is going to work with me this morning, so I guess we better go so we can get back in time to go look at the school he'll be going to and get his savings account open at the credit union. Now that we aren't paying rent in two places and paying extra bills for phone, electricity, etc. I'm going to start putting at least half of his child support money in savings and try to see if I can get some kind of high-interest account for a college fund.

Take care,
Sandy
