I guess it can be both at times.

When I was at my worse...people in my family accused me of using depression as an excuse not to do things I didn't want to do, and now when I feel a lot better than I did (though not ecstatic or anything)...now I know that there are things I can't handle, don't deal with well, things that will set me off and when I try to avoid those so that I can keep my "sanity" (for lack of a better word) I still get accused of being selfish...thinking only of myself, not caring enough about other's feelings. I don't mean to be that way...but with my mom...and a lot of my family, they are just so negative all the time, and I just can't take it.. Twenty minutes with them and I'm falling into the depths of despair.

Anyway...that's a tough question...not sure if it's good or bad.
