Subject: Something that ticked me off

I was reading the papers today and there was this blurb there about JAG on a local network. I remember sending feedback to that station, telling them to buy the rights to air JAG. I just really wanna see JAG's first season (Meg Austin forever!!!) without having to subscribe to cable because that's where they're showing all the old and new eps. Well, wish granted.

What really ticked me off was this line about how the exciting cases were being solved by the dashing Cmdr. Rabb and Col. Mackenzie, how they're getting a little help from Adm. Chegwidden, Lt. Roberts and ... --- GASP! --- Lt. Meg Austin!!!

I can't believe she was placed on the level of support cast because if I remember right, Meg was the lead actress in this series, even if it was just during the first season. I wish they just didn't include her in the press release.

Now, this gets me thinking if the people in Bellisarius know anything about worldwide press releases regarding their show? Do they have any control as to how Tracey's stint in JAG should be portrayed or addressed?

I remember in the first Asian cable network they showed JAG in, there was very little promotion for season 1 but that was the season everyone loved. So, a lot of JAG devotees were surprised to suddenly see promos of a brunette serving as Harm's partner for season 2. A friend of mine had to check out the station's website to understand the confusion and it stated there that Mackenzie was coming as Harm's new partner.

Imagine my devastation! So, I searched around for other JAG sites and came across this site some three years ago. I still can't live with the fact that JAG does not feature Tracey anymore.

I've seen episodes of the new JAG -- they're meatier, better written but the appeal was lost on me. I felt as if the new scripts, the better scripts were the ones that Tracey and Meg deserved. That's why I really think it's unfair to say that JAG's success only came when Catherine Bell joined the show. The reason for its success has to do with the fact that it's in a network with the right target audience and the quality of the writing improved drastically.

If NBC had kept JAG and allowed it to grow, I'm sure it would be reaping the benefits that CBS is now happily enjoying.
