Subject: What can we do to turn the tide (leaving members)?

We have a serious problem with members leaving. Ok, I know a big bunch left with Søren, Smus etc., but still, I see a general trend of us losing high-levels.

The question is, if we are even playing the game right. People do want equipment, because the game has been designed the way it is - with emphasis on equipment. There isn't much of an endgame beyond that, and I believe the majority of the problem lies therein.
How can we convince players that the game can be something it is not? Is it folly to do so?

Maybe we are trying to play the game wrong? Maybe it is truly impossible to make a PvP-heavy guild in a game like WoW?

The problem is escalating, because our original highlevels (those who reached it first) has barely anything left to gain from the blue instances. That means, that the newcoming 60's have noone to team with, so they are stuck with pickup groups, which makes us kind of useless, if we are evaluated strictly on a PvE basis.

Atm. we lose lvl60s as fast as new ones level up, and many are going more inactive. We simply aren't as many online in primetime anymore as we used to, even with more members.

I tried another strategy to create some attention, by trying to make something of a splash on the Ravencrest board, letting people know what we are about. It was something that worked in UO's PvP community. Alas, there seems to be very little response to it here...

What can we do to turn this trend? Is it possible? Or are we just trying to swim against the current?
