*Occasionally the mare was known to practice cruel and unusual punishment on those who lent themselves to abuse. Unfortunately, taking advantage of those who did not appear to be able to prevent being taken advantage of was how a social structure was built, and dominance is sounding good. She stalks towards the mare, keeping out of sight behind a slight rise. She flits around the ridge, then flattens out and charges at the new mare, lacing her ears, and buzzing past, a look of almost sadistic glee in her bright eyes. Hazing nearly always was a Make it or Break it situation - this new mare would either toughen up or shrivel.*
