I guess somehow I fit into all of this, because even though my name wasn't mentioned, the people who know the situation know my role. And I have a few thoughts on all of this b.s.
First off, this was all over a stupid joke. Personally, I thought the webpage devoted to Shannon was pretty frickin' funny, but it lost it's humor when the punk-ass who did it was too chicken shit to own up to it. That alone would have saved everyone a lot of trouble. Because then Shannon could have dealt with all this shit by herself... and still, at this point I think Shannon is big enough to take care of herself, instead of everyone else fighting her battles for her. I've seen her get in arguments in the room, and she can hold her own.... although I must say that usually I can't decipher what she's saying, but I can tell that, boy she sure is mad. Maybe she should have been flattered by all of this. Because someone obviously thinks about her enough to spend all this time designing a web page about her, which is kinda sad. Quite possibly it's similar to the way little boys show affection to little girls, by tormenting them. Oh well...
Anyway, as for the argument that ensued... As for Amy's analogy, yeah maybe it wasn't the best way to compare situations, but I know her and don't see any ill intentions there. She just forgot one thing, and y'all need to think about this: Why did it piss everyone off that the past was brought up, when Amy didn't mention any names? I'll tell you why. Because Amy forgot that between the 4 of us, myself included, at one time or another, each of us has had a serious case of BIG MOUTH, so everyone already freakin' knows what happened. Is it Amy's fault everyone knows what happened, and to whom it happened? Hell no, there are 3 others of us who found it necessary to tell the story to anyone who would listen, not showing any discretion as to who we told, and who they'd tell. This is gossip central, everyone knows that, and if we didn't want people to know this situation, none of us should have mentioned shit in the first place. It's not Amy's fault everyone knew who the un-named people in her analogy were. Maybe we all need to think about who we share the intimate details of our life with, because sometimes it comes back to bite you on the butt... and it gets ugly. I've made the mistake before, and it got to the point where I felt like I could only trust one person in chat (Janie) so I left for awhile, until I thought I could come back and share a few laughs and talk sports, but not put my life on display. A dose of reality is highly recommended. And while I'm on the subject, I don't ever wanna hear someone get upset and say that they're "going to leave chat forever, goodbye!" because that gets old... it's lost it's charm, and noone believes it, so spare everyone the drama.
As for everyone's response to Amy's story, I hope they feel good about themselves. By KNOWINGLY stooping to retaliating, and mudslinging, for the way you THOUGHT she meant it, kinda tarnishes the halos, ya know? And for whomever brought God into the conversation with their post, as in 'we need to pray to Him for these people that hurt us' gimme a damn break. If you really believe that load of crap, and think a piddly chat spat is on his agenda, then you believe Deion Sanders when he says, "I'd like to thank God for giving me that interception"... yeah. Right. who cares !? And if you really believe that, then consider the IGNORE button to be God's little precious gift to you, and use it sometimes... rise above retaliation, and let it go.
There was just no need to gang up on Amy here, and keep attacking her after her apologies. Her message was right, but her delivery could use some work... so don't crucify her, she doesn't deserve it. You must not know her at all, not like I do. I came back to chat the other day for a few laughs, and to talk to some old friends, and maybe, just maybe, talk some baseball... not to see that nobody has grown up. We're all about the same age here, let's start acting like it. Note: no one is being singled out here, as I include myself in all of this. I have enough drama to deal with when the computer is off, don't need more here. I have no ill will towards anyone here, I even get along with weas just fine, there's no bad blood. Why should we continue a cycle of childish behavior?
I'm sure someone will feel the need to respond to this in an uncivilized way... so before you do, organize your thoughts, and say something intelligent if you must say something at all... I've had about enough ignorance for one day. This should be the end of this bullshit. Beth, Weas, Amy... let it go, take a walk, count to 10, whatever... life's too short for all this mess. You think the 4 of us would have learned that lesson by now. Y'all take care, and I'll see ya when I see ya.
