``Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'' Series Premieres on Disney Channel in Fall 2001
BURBANK, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--July 10, 2001--Disney Channel, the leader in television for kids and families, has acquired all 66 episodes of the popular live-action series ``Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.''

A top-tier syndicated program with kids 6-14 (3.0 GAA rating), the series will make its Disney Channel premiere on Sept. 3.

Based on the hit feature film of the same name, the popular TV show blows the shrinking concept wide open to include a myriad of experiments gone awry. ``Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'' is a one-hour comedy/adventure series starring Peter Scolari as the lovable but befuddled scientist Wayne Szalinski. The well-meaning Wayne constructs a variety of inventions, including the Shrink-Ray, Neuron Nudger and Brainiactivator among others, that create hair-raising and hilarious predicaments for his wife Dianne (Barbara Alyn Woods), their kids Amy (Hillary Tuck) and Nick (Thomas Dekker), and their friends. The series picks up with the Szalinski household relocating to Matheson, Colorado. Each episode incorporates new technologies and digital effects to feature the family in various new adventures.

``Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'' is executive produced by John Landis and Leslie Belzberg, and co-executive produced by Ed Naha, co-writer of the screenplay for the feature film. Landis' credits include feature films ``National Lampoon's Animal House,'' ``The Blues Brothers,'' and ``An American Werewolf in London.'' Belzberg and Landis were co-executive producers on television series ``Dream On,'' ``Weird Science'' and ``Sliders.''

``What excites me about 'Honey' is that it's another in a long line of traditional Disney themes,'' said Landis. ``One is that of the benign mad scientist. 'The Absent Minded Professor' and 'The Shaggy Dog' are both experiments gone wrong. They deal with science, magic and science-fiction, and those are precisely the elements we're incorporating into 'Honey.' We can be as outrageous as we want to be. We see it as a license -- a license to imagine. That's exciting, and I'm thrilled 'Honey' has found a home on Disney Channel.''

The episodes of ``Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'' are licensed from Buena Vista Television and are a production of St. Clare Entertainment. The episodes will air exclusively on Disney Channel.
