Subject: Two young maidens enter

A tall girl of 16 years enters, holding the hand of a much smaller girl of 6. Both girl's hair is long and hangs to the waist, light brown and neatly brushed. The older girl's is just hanging, while the younger's is in tight braids. "Come along, Mellody, walk faster!" Says the older girl.
"Aw, Scarlett, I can't! My feet hurt real bad!" The little girl whines in reply. Scarlett, feeling sorry for her little sister, scoops her up into her arms.
"You're getting heavy, Mell!" She says with a grin. Mellody only laughs. "Look, there's a nice place to rest." Scarlett carries Mellody over to the small bridge and sits herslef and the little girl down. "Careful, dont fall!" She says warningly.
"I won't." Says Mellody, looking down, facinated at the sparkling water.
Scarlett starts to think about money. Where will we get income? she think to herself. I suppose, for now, I'll just have to set up a stand in the market. Oh, but what about Mell? I can't bring her with me to run a stand, she will create chaos. Suddenly, she gets an idea. She picks up Mellody and walks off towards a shop.
