The mare tosses her head in a gesture of happiness in seeing the girl again. She then falls silent, seeming to consider the situation. Taking a few steps forward on dainty white hooves, she gently touches the girl on the shoulder. Her thoughts voice themselves in the girl's mind, aduible to Vala, and Vala alone. You may call me Nimrodel (Nim-Road-El), for that is my right and proper name that was giv'n to me. The mare then takes a step backwards, eyeing the girl as if wondering if Vala had heard or not.
