Subject: X...A boy, fourteen winters enters the square on an ebon stallion, beautiful eyes watching other people warily...X (OCC-This for StumbleDuck only...)

X…The pitch-black Frisian throws his noble head, impatient to be traveling faster then a slow, cautious walk and the unusual red flames of his eyes dance, then fade and the orbs become black. The boy’s hands grip the mane of the horse and he rides without saddle or bridal, steering by leg, word, and with their immensely deep bond. Following behind and off to one side is a she-wolf with a night-dark coat. Her muzzle and paws are flecked with a dull silver color, as are her ears and her tail. She pads along quietly, tail low, eyes watchful. The boy's gold brown skin glints like freshly pounded copper sheets in the sunlight, and his rough cut, charcoal black hair is ruffled by a gentle breeze which seems to have come from nowhere to cool the boy. The air is pleasant enough and so he wears a hide vest and a white, almost sleeveless shirt, and tanned shorts, all well worn and broken in. With him he carries many things…Hidden in sheaths all over his body are fine knives and at his hip he carries a dagger. The hilt is beautifully carved, engraved with astounding designs, embossed with emeralds and sapphires, made from silver, and the blade is fine, Elven metal. It glows ocean-blue when danger, whether human, animal, or elemental, approaches. He also has a stunning mahogany longbow with arrows feathered from a phoenix and the points bladed with hand carved dragons’ teeth. In his pocket he always has a small woodland flute that has a forest-green vine design on it and special properties. He has a small, hide shoulder sack, and in it are three gold coins called Dask, two silvers called Mas, and a copper, called Kan. It also holds a flat piece of jade and a small orb in which black, gray, and white smoke swirls, as well as a bright red apple and a good sized, leather bound sketchbook. The sketchbook is plain and old looking, with faded parchment pages. It’s full of beautiful paintings, charcoal and pencil drawings, and chalk-slate sketches, of animals, trees, places, and people. Under his sketchbook is a short-sleeved, button-up, linen shirt; about knee length, cotton pants; a purple silk shirt; green silk shorts; soft, leather moccasins; and folded boots. On top of his sketchbook sits a small diary with the words Briar Moss impressed into the cover. In it are entries, some short and some long, written neatly in black ink, from an eagle quill which is tucked into the book (and a glass bottle of jet ink), on pristinely white pages. He also has one other book, with silver inlayed into the cover and, in calligraphy, secrets of the Unknown are scribed across the pages. Around his neck he wears a silver-colored charm on a thin chain, the charm in the shape of a large maple tree. His startling, gray-green eyes are extremely observant, picking up light invisible to the average human eye, and his ears hear sounds above and below the normal range. His smelling also detects things that things most human noses wouldn’t pay mind to. He’s stunningly handsome, yet seemingly ignorant of his good-looks and his interests are not in most who might appreciate them. He has a strange aurora about him and there is a wild look in his eyes that comes from inside his heart, not from fear. There is much more to him than it appears and he has Wylde-Magic running in his veins. He nudges his horse slightly with bare feet and the she-wolf slinks along behind, cold looking, ice blue eyes alert…X

History
He was born in the season of blooming flowers and unfurling leaves, in the month of the white wolf and his parents were Marian and Francis. At the young age of three years Briar’s parents, both of whom he was close to, were murdered. No evidence of who the murderer was given but Briar soon learned of his half brother, Drayges, and his hideous secret; killing his parents. After that both Drayges and Briar were sent to an orphanage. The night that was midway through the first week of the two’s arrival Drayges learned of Briar’s knowledge of the terrible deed and sought after him, knife ready. Briar, however, escaped through a window and took off. For about a year (he was four winters round now) he lived on the streets, scrounging in trash for food, barely surviving. When his fifth birthday arrived the Thief Lord (The Leader of all the gangs in Hajara) found him and placed him into a gang, The Silver Wolves. Briar remained in a gang till the age of eleven, when he was caught stealing for the third time. Since he was already wearing the double X (a x shaped imprint stamped on a thief’s hand when he was caught stealing) he was sentenced to life at the Docks, a nasty place where people lived a short time. However, he made one of the few escapes after half a year there. When he arrived at Red Leaf Woods (which soon became his home) he was twelve summers. He was ’taken in’ by a pack of wolves an was under the care of the two alphas, Adra and Kymir. Kohanna, his present she-wolf companion, was his “sister”. When Briar was thirteen and a half Drayges, who had become part of a raiding party, stumbled upon Briar’s family of wolves after burning a village that had resided near the forest. The used slow methods of killing the wolves after capturing them, and Briar and Kohanna were the only ones that escaped. The raiders skinned the wolves for their pelts and when Briar and Kohanna returned the wolves had been mangled disgustingly. Briar and Kohanna spent the next half a year traveling, [During which time Briar’s life was saved by an ebony black stallion, Ahote, who came to his rescue during a volcano eruption] till all three came upon this place, where the now reside.

_____
Father was of Arador, and was one of the finest with horses and met his wife upon making a visit to Berdan. His mother was of Berdan, great with birds, and her mother was of Semine (Briar's mother had diverted from that culture, interested in the birds of prey). His mother's father was Sidonia; his name remains unknown; he had fallen in love with Briar's grandmother, given her a child, then mysteriously disappeared. His father's father had been Arador but had moved to Sidonia. On one of his travels he met his wife, Briar's grandmother, who was Aislinn. Briar himself was born in a desert of Sidonia but traveled around, usually returning for a visit though.
