Mia briefly looks down and shakes her head gravely and stutters while staring at the cobblestones, “Well, um… I can’t,” She began; she didn’t want to suffer their sympathy for the excluded. If they didn’t intend for her to come, she knew she didn’t have to. “I have work to do at the bakery… come by anytime.” She stammers out a goodbye and briskly walks to the bakery.
