A tall young woman of twenty rides into the square, towering over people with her big black stallion. The horse is wary of all the bustle and people and shies, hooves clattering on the stone, of a peddler's cart. "Whoa, Baron," Callista whispers soothingly, stroking his neck. Immediately the stallion calms and stands still while his owner looks around.
