The boy/thing/creature jumps back at the touch, still making absolutely no noise. It shivers, and cringes a little, glancing at his rat-friend, and then back to Patraig. He quivers some more, undecided. At last, he squeaks a single word, in a voice seemingly almost too high-pitched to understand. "Meerclar..."

The black she-rat looks up at her name, twitching her nose. Sneezing, she looks from the sewer rat she remembered perfectly back to her master. As if totally uncertain, she scampers to the edge of the bag, and then back. She chatters her annoyance at having to make such a decision and points her long nose in Thief...
