I used to visit the "Gisborne Herald" when I was an official of the old Printing Trades Union.
Rodney Clague was our contact in those days - I remember once he took me out to a museum (mainly transport) just out of town and there were a Linotype or two in rather forelorn storage there. I wonder has anything been done to display them? There was also a Linotype at the Herald - has it been retained?
I am involved with the printing museum in Wellington where we have Linotypes, Intertypes, Ludlows, Nebitypes and a Monotype Supercaster and many other letterpress equipment.
Regards,
BILL NAIRN
